About Ruth Kamenev

Ruth Kamenev Basically self-taught, I paint in watercolours and acrylics gravitating toward the natural world for my subject matter. I enjoy painting landscapes and still life but find that birds, animals and people, with their winning ways, inspire my work.
I have decided to share this page with my muse, my inspiration - my mother, who painted in oils beginning in her 50ï¿¿s, who found her passion and passed it to me long before she herself passed. Lillian May Johnson. I dedicate my work to her.
I am currently represented by Wayne Arthur Gallery on Provencher Blvd. in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Member of Local Colour Art Group, which hosts two shows a year, juried into the Manitoba Society of Artists show 2009, 2010 and 2011. Winner of the Lynn Sissons Memorial Watercolor award (MSA) in 2010 and 2011 and a People's Choice Award in 2010. www.localcolourart.ca
