Aquarius metal print by Ruth Kamenev. Bring your artwork to life with the stylish lines and added depth of a metal print. Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. Watercolour batik on rice paper is accomplished in a similar manner to traditional batik on cloth, using wax as a resist and layering watercolour paint in layers of increasing strength. The result is a unique artwork with textures and depth that is impossible to achieve using ordinary watercolour techniques.
About Ruth Kamenev
I paint in watercolours for the most part, but enjoy trying new things like batik, acrylics and alcohol inks, gravitating toward the natural world for my subject matter. I enjoy painting landscapes and still life but find that birds, animals and people, with their winning ways, inspire my work. I have decided to share this page with my muse, my inspiration - my mother, who painted in oils beginning in her 50�s, who found her passion and passed it to me long before she herself passed.
